Show organisers were so desperate to fill the gaps left by European and American manufacturers that local cabbies were allowed to tout for business inside the arena, guaranteeing that punters would at least get to see some cars.

Tokyo: Zero Emissions

Despite the lack of manufacturers in attendance much was made of the green technology on display at this year’s Tokyo motor show, although perhaps a sign reading ‘Zero Admissions’ would have been more appropriate.

Honda CR-Z inspired by failure

Design boss Nobuki Ebisawa explains the relationship between the original design sketches of the new Honda CR-Z and his crumpled jacket. Both are, apparently, influenced by ancient Japanese origami, and not the result of being screwed up and chucked on the floor.
